The Watson property, a historic site was purchased by Landing Construction to build Royal Oak. In order to develop the land, the original farm house and barns had to be removed. Rather than simply demolishing the structures, we found valuable uses for these historic buildings. The original barn was still in good shape and was moved from its location on the property to a farm just below, where it is still in use. The original Watson farmhouse was renovated and donated to the Vernon Chamber of Commerce. Landing Construction had the house lifted off of its foundation and moved to its current location on Highway 97 at the entrance to Vernon where it is currently in use as the Chamber of Commerce offices and tourist information center for Vernon.
